Prawn skewers
Prawn skewers can be a quick and easy starter or as a side dish to grilled dishes, to spice up salads …. Choose large (king) prawns, which have a delicate, slightly sweet taste and firm texture. Serve with herb sauce.
INGREDIENTS
Recipe for 2 people:
- 250 g cleaned large prawns
- Salt
- Garlic powder
- BIO ghee butter (for baking)
- Wooden skewers
For the sauce:
- 4 tablespoons of cream cheese spread with herbs
- 2 tablespoons sour cream (or Mileram, Greek yoghurt, etc.)
- Salt
- Garlic powder
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Sweet paprika
- Other herbs as desired
METHOD
Rinse the thawed prawns and place them on a paper towel to dry well. The prawns must be cleaned (otherwise they should be cleaned before being skewered on sticks).
Make 4 skewers with the prawns. Season with a little salt and you can also add a little garlic powder.
Melt 1 teaspoon of BIO ghee butter in a frying pan (or grill pan) and fry the prawns quickly on both sides (3-4 minutes on each side).
Put the cream cheese spread with the herbs in a small bowl and mix in the sour cream (or Greek yoghurt), lemon juice and the rest of the spices. Salt the sauce to taste. If you like spicy dishes, you can also add a little chilli.
Enjoy!
MY TIPS
- If the dish is served for a special occasion (such as Valentine’s Day), it can be decorated with fresh red pepper hearts. Make them using heart-shaped metal cookie cutters.
