Summer, sea, beach, sun and carefree enjoyment! These are all associations when you smell the delicate aroma of our Live & Love defatted Organic Coconut Flour, which smells like… coconut!!! But really gently and subtly, so that it does not affect the final taste and smell of the dish.
Defatted organic coconut flour is made from the dried coconut core left after the coconut oil has been pressed. This is finely ground to form the flour. The defatted coconut flour has a whole bunch of great properties. It is gluten-free, extremely high in fibre and very low in carbohydrates. The range of vitamins and minerals it contains is quite rich. Coconut flour contains vitamins C, A, B1, B2, B6, B12, iron, zinc, magnesium, potassium and calcium, among others. Not a little, right? That’s not all. Coconut flour is also rich in amino acids!
Using Organic Coconut Flour … it’s universal… it goes well with everything…
Coconut flour has a slightly sweet taste, so it’s great for baking desserts. It is a bit fickle and therefore certain rules must be followed when baking. But don’t worry, we’ve got a few tricks for you:
- Never swap equal amounts of wheat flour for coconut flour in recipes, because it just doesn’t work.
- 1 heaped tablespoon of coconut flour is equivalent to about 50 g of wheat flour and about 30 g of almond flour.
- ½ cup of coconut flour requires 1-3 eggs and extra liquid. You can never have too many eggs, especially with LCHF treats.
- Coconut flour requires about twice as much liquid as wheat flour.
- Coconut flour is gluten-free, so there is no need to worry about over-mixing the dough or making it hard and compact.
- Whisked coconut flour is also great for thickening sauces, fruit toppings, etc.

Usage
Defatted Organic Coconut Flour is used as a healthy alternative to classic cereal flours for baking and cooking (1 cup of wheat flour is equivalent to 1/3 – 1/2 cup of coconut flour). As defatted coconut flour is extremely absorbent, it is necessary to increase the amount of liquid in recipes where we replace classic flour. Store in a cool, dark and dry place.
