Melatonin is the body’s own hormone, which is naturally produced by our brain before and during sleep, and its concentration is highest at night – so it is also called “night hormone”. The secretion of melatonin begins as soon as it begins to darken – so darkness stimulates the formation, and light inhibits it. Due to the fast pace of life, stress, work and modern lifestyle, melatonin production is often disrupted, which has a strong impact on quality of life. One form of help is also the addition of melatonin, which is mostly available in the form of medicines, but has also recently appeared in dietary supplements.
Valens Melatonin Oral Spray contains 0.33 mg melatonin per spray (daily dose), a concentration that does not exceed normally present amount in the body at night. The natural aroma of currants gives the product a great taste, and due to xylitol, it can also be consumed just before bedtime.
It is the only product with melatonin on the Slovenian market that was developed and manufactured in Slovenia.

Melatonin, the hormone of the night
Melatonin is the body’s own hormone produced by our brain. It is also called the “night hormone” because it is formed before and during sleep, and concentrations are highest at night. The secretion of melatonin begins as soon as it begins to darken – so darkness stimulates the formation, and light inhibits it. Due to the fast pace of life, stress, shift work and modern lifestyle, melatonin production is often disrupted, which has a strong impact on quality of life. One form of help is also the addition of melatonin, which is mostly available in the form of medicines, but has also recently appeared in dietary supplements.
Even low doses are effective
There is a saying “less is more” when using melatonin. Melatonin in dietary supplements is effective even when its concentrations do not exceed natural or physiological concentrations. Excessive use of melatonin, both in terms of overdoses and long-term use, is not recommended. The Public Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices (JAZMP) *, which also regulates certain dietary supplements in Slovenia, has therefore issued a recommendation setting the maximum permitted limit (0.44 mg) of melatonin in the daily dose for the latter. Despite the recommendations, most dietary supplements available on the Slovenian market contain 1 mg or more of melatonin in a daily dose, so experts advise caution when choosing. Valens Melatonin is thus the only product that complies with JAZMP guidelines and is therefore safe to consume. The food supplement is made according to the highest quality standards – Valens has a GMP certificate of good manufacturing practice, which ensures the traceability of ingredients and compliance of active ingredients with the statements on the product declaration.
Ingredients
water, thickeners: xylitol (25%) and xanthan gum, vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride), natural aroma of black currant, melatonin, preservative: potassium sorbate.

Depending on the recommended daily dose, the content is sufficient for 30 days.
Usage
Shake well before use. When using for the first time, press the sprayer 3 times to make it work. Dispense the contents directly into the mouth. The recommended daily dose is 1 spray at bedtime.
A dietary supplement is not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet. The recommended daily amount should not be exceeded. Keep out of reach of children. Excessive consumption can have laxative effects. Store in a dry and dark place at a temperature up to 25 ° C. Consume within 3 months of opening.
