Soft and fluffy LCHF buns
Do you miss the soft and fluffy buns on the LCHF diet? If so, you’ll love this recipe. The buns are made from organic, defatted golden flaxseed flour and are really soft, even when chilled, which is not a common feature of LCHF bread.
INGREDIENTS
- 4 eggs
- 150 g creme cheese with herbs
- 1 tbsp Greek yoghurt with 10% milk fat
- 90 g of Live & love organic defatted golden flaxeseed flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet -17 g of cream of tartar (baking)
METHOD
Beat the eggs until frothy (for a couple of minutes) then add the cheese spread, Greek yoghurt, and dry ingredients. With wet hands, make 6-7 buns (sprinkle with seeds if desired) and bake at 180 degrees for 40 min.
In case you want to use ground golden flax instead of the defatted golden flax flour, I recommend the recipe for LCHF buns with golden flaxseed flour. In this recipe, you can replace the defatted golden flax meal with finely ground golden flax flour.
Enjoy!
MY TIPS
- The herbs are not very overpowering, they add a gentle aroma. If you prefer a stronger flavor, you can add more (either as spices, fresh, or dried). Of course, instead of the herbed cheese spread, you can also use a classic cheese spread.
- If you want to use ground golden flax instead of defatted golden flax flour, I recommend the recipe for LCHF BUNS MADE WITH GOLDEN FLAX FLOUR. In this recipe, you can substitute the defatted flour with finely ground golden flax.
- Store the baked buns in the refrigerator and consume them within 7-10 days. You can also freeze the baked buns.
