SHEPHERD’S PIE A BIT DIFFERENT
Shepherd’s pie is a traditional dish originating from Ireland. It is typically made with minced meat and mashed potatoes, layered in a baking dish and baked to perfection. Over the years, numerous variations and adaptations have emerged. This dish is truly delicious and versatile, and it pairs perfectly with a bowl of green salad.
But what about potatoes? And the KETO diet? They don’t usually go together!
If you’ve been following our Kitchen Challenges show from the very beginning, you know that there’s always a unique twist to each episode. In this episode, the challenge was to create an incredibly tasty shepherd’s pie without a key ingredient. Our shepherd’s pie doesn’t contain potatoes, making it suitable for KETO, low-carb diets, and of course, diabetics. Let me tell you, this pie is absolutely finger-licking good!
In the show, Katja and Jure take you through the entire preparation process, with a special focus on making “mashed potatoes,” which, of course, aren’t made from actual potatoes. Curious to know how it’s done? Watch the episode! For translation of the video, turn on subtitles.
